You must be under a severe stress right now and I guess a lot of Iraqis do miss some sleep at night. And the future looks rather dark right now. That is true, also when we look at the recent developments into the Afghan country there are some worries for your future too.

It might be that some words written by me on 17 July 2002 have a very little to de with the situation you are in right now. Let me quote them for you:

Because Saddam did not obey the rule of Reinko and the rule of the story I would like to inform the American government they have completely free hand into invading Iraq.
I want an end to the sanctions, and I know your fears about the so called weapons of mass destruction.

Yes, this is what I wrote on 17 July. May be you wished that I did not do that but it's done and there is no turning back anymore I think. On the other hand it is wise to know that war still can be avoided but indeed time is running out fast. Real fast as you have found out by now.

And since the prospect of war is a bit bad to the economic developments right now (stocks hitting bottoms on relatively long time scales) it is clear that time is running out again. So do your best in avoiding war but does avoiding war bring an end to the economic sanctions?

You understand that this is probably not the case, given the political powers in the world right  now you understand what will end the sanctions (or better what could end the sanctions). Lets not avoid that word, it is called regime change.

What if war is around in the (short) future?

Make sure all info about dead civilians will leave the country. Exact numbers and info on place and time, most safe is simply via journalists. And those journalists tell this as soon as possible, so try to make some kind of network that could resist war damage a bit (satellite phone and so).

If the concept of 'instant retaliation' (see story nr 48 for this) works than this could provide some civil death. I hope it does and I hope it keeps the Pentagon a bit in line but it is important that info about dead civilians gets out of the country as soon as possible.
So work on this while there is still time.

And as long as the phones work, do not call all kind of known al Qaida members or so. Make it a bit 'via via' that could be safer to all. Again I count on journalists for this (could they bring in a lot of satellite phones and or long distance radio equipment and or other communication channels??).

That was all for the concept of instant retaliation. Please translate my words and spread them throughout the Iraqi landscape so all who need to know can read it. The next is for the Iraqi army only:

What if you have to fight the American army?

It could be the American army will be a bit lesser having the 'bomb throwing attitude' but I won't count on that. So if the war goes on there will probably be heavy bombing and some scenarios already did surface.
I cannot give you advise on this, it will be like hell and you know it.

All I have is two questions, very simple questions:

  1. Could you leave the Mogadishu stuff out please? (And make sure dead American bodies can go back home to the families they come from).
  2. Can you watch out with the biochemical stuff? (Do not fly this abroad because it could be used into the above mentioned concept of 'instant retaliation').

That is because I think the Americans are serious with there nuke threats in case some bio chemical attack against their army or civilians is observed. Just think of the future scenarios if you use this kind of warfare, in that case in the end the sanctions will not be lifted. And if those are not lifted the whole war will be completely senseless and be complete without meaning, never forget what the goal is. Never forget that please.

At last I want to calm you a bit if possible, the Americans are relatively safe within my hands (or within my claws). The fact that I am some democrat from some Western country is not a reason to spare them in any way. I still have my long term goals and I will keep working on these goals in the future, or is it naive to think that those goals will ever come out? I don't think so, but we must end this letter and I wish you some luck in case the war will be around into Iraq.

Hoping that not to many civilians will die, greetings, Reinko.
